What the Diet Police don’t want you to know

The diet police may be your well meaning colleague. Or the rules of your new diet. Or the beliefs you have about what foods are good and what foods are bad bad bad. Or anyone or anything else (you own thoughts included) that makes you feel wrong or naughty for what you eat.

And the diet police wont tell you this. But I will:

You can eat whatever you want. In whatever quantity you want. Whenever you want.

You are allowed to.

You are an adult, so you get to decide what you can eat.

You don’t need anyone’s permission.

You are the boss of you (*hands on hips*).

Does that mean that all food will make you feel healthy? No

Does that mean your body won’t change depending on what you eat? Nope

Does that mean that every kind of food is helpful to your energy levels and well-being? Of course not.

What it does mean is that there is not some God of Diets watching over you, waiting to lighting bolt your ass because you ate an extra bikkie (or 10) with your cup of tea.

There is a massive and crucial difference between have to and choose to

It doesn’t mean that eating those 10 biscuits was the best things for your health.

But that is not the point.

The point is you get to decide what you eat

That you are allowed to eat anything and everything.

Not what the diet police say you should or shouldn’t.

And that is important.

Because there is a difference between doing something because you have to, doing something because YOU CHOOSE TO. 

A huge, HUGE difference.

Its the difference between;

Restriction, rule breaking, falling off the wagon…

And freedom.
