Overeating, binge eating, emotional eating. For almost everyone I talk to and work with, these negative eating patterns are a sign. A symptom. A red flag showing you that something is off in your life.
Eating more than your body needs with accompanying negative emotions such as guilt, overwhelment, loss of control and embarrassment, tells you that there are other areas of your life where you feeling less than positive.
Your food intake is a indication of that.
Ease, pleasure and joy in how you eat and feel about your body.
That can seem like something only others have access to.
A state of being that sounds nice, but is not possible for you.
A goal you don’t ever really feel you can achieve (but that you want it all the same).
But I am here to tell you.
Ease, peace and joy is your NATURAL state.
It is how you would relate to food if it weren’t for the layers of BELIEFS that have been created from various external sources; culture, media, history, family, society, schooling and so on.
It is who you were before you took on the patterns of thought the outside world presented to you.
Its who you ARE.
Even if you aren’t allowing that side of you to shine through.
You, the happy, healthy, joyous eater is there inside you.
It is who you are at your core.
And for that reason, learning to embody that person, to BE who you really are, is not only possible but is what your soul is calling you to.
I know that can be hard to believe.
But if any of this make sense to you, its because you can FEEL the truth of it.
It is why you want to change your eating.
It is why you want to feel better.
It is the reason you are reading this now.
Because deep down you KNOW you are meant to feel good. You are meant to feel radiant well-being. You are meant to be who you really are.
Your body is not broken.
You are not damaged or bad for being where you are.
You are merely thinking thoughts (and a belief is just a thought you think over and over) that lead to actions and feelings which cloud the healthy, happy, ease-full relationship with food and yourself that you desire.
And I am here to guide you in reconnecting you with the good feeling way of eating, and living, that is your inherent state.
To reacquaint you with your intrinsic nature.
That joyful, pleasurable way of being that is available to you.
That is always there for you.
That IS you.
As a teacher of Intuitive Eating, I am a big proponent of encouraging you to eat most of the time in accordance with your hunger.
And sure, that will most likely help your body return to it’s natural weight
And of course, it is better for your health because you are following your body’s signals and needs.
But the real reason I encourage you to eat when you are hungry, is because it is the MOST PLEASURABLE way to eat.

Food tastes better. Eating is more enjoyable. The food you choose is more satisfying.
Eating when you are hungry brings the most JOY.
And why would joy be a factor in how and what you eat?
Because the whole reason you want ANYTHING in life, is in order to feel good.
Because joy is the reason you are here.
Because when you are in a vibration of savoring and delight, you attract more into your life for you to savor and delight in.
Because when you are filled up on pleasure, it is EASY to eat in accordance with your body’s needs. It is EASY to fuel your wonderful body with nourishing foods. Its EASY for you to have a normal, healthy, peaceful, enjoyable relationship with food and yourself.
Because you have to eat everyday for the rest of your life, so why not make it a wonderful part of your existence?
Joy is the key. Seeking out and prioritizing PLEASURE produces endless benefits to your health, your body and your life as a whole.
So sure, you can eat when you are hungry for your health or your waistline.
But eating a food you LOVE, when your body is desiring it, all while taking the time and focus to revel in the deliciousness and appreciate your meal,
eating for the joy, eating for the pleasure
THAT is what is most fulfilling.
THAT is what is going to fill you up.
THAT is what really hungry for.
It’s not just about what goal you desire to achieve,
but what process you desire to achieve that goal.
Take a goal of wanting to have a healthier diet and a good feeling body.

What’s normal and what’s normalized are two very different things.
What has become normalized:
Deciding to quit sugar and then discussing with friends how bad you have been this weekend because you ate WAY more than you ‘should’ have. Obsessing and worrying about when and what to eat. Never knowing what is the right choice. Being ashamed of parts of your body. Having to ‘work off’ something you have eaten. Failing this diet and that diet. Falling off the wagon. Having to HAUL yourself back onto the wagon. Guilt. Embarrassment. Self-deprecation.
Just because something is common, doesn’t make it normal
What IS normal?
Finding it easy to choose the foods that you love and that help your body to thrive. Having vibrant health and radiant joy. Moving your body for pleasure, energy and enjoyment. Eating in accordance with the signals from your wise, wonderful body. Savoring and relishing what you eat. Having a food relationship that is nourishing and ease-full. Not having to worry or feel bad about when, how and what you ingest. Making choices that love and support your most vibrant self.
and that CAN be your normal.
Because underneath what has become normalized,
is the healthy, happy, intuitive eater and person you really are.
